How to Play

Easy to learn. Brutal to master. DriftFall is about making clean decisions under pressure. The grid rewards planning, timing, and restraint.

The basics

• Make a move: You interact with the grid to survive and progress.
• Enemies respond: Each decision can trigger enemy actions or hazards.
• Manage HP: HP is your runway. Spend it wisely, recover when you can, and avoid unnecessary hits.
• Earn gold: Gold fuels upgrades and long-term progression.

Grid sizes

DriftFall features multiple grid sizes. Smaller grids force tighter decisions. Larger grids offer more options, but also more ways to get punished.

Progression & upgrades

• Armory upgrades: Spend gold to strengthen future runs.
• Unlocks: New classes, chips, and tools expand your playstyle.
• Codex: Learn mechanics, enemies, and systems as you go.

Modes and competition

• Daily Challenge: A daily ruleset (mutators) that keeps the game fresh.
• Ranked vs Open: Ranked focuses on pure play. Open allows revive/scramble routes for a more chaotic climb.

Tips for your first runs

• Play slow until you recognize the threats.
• Save big moves for when the board is tight.
• Upgrade consistently, even small boosts add up.
• Use Daily Challenge to learn new patterns quickly.
